• January 1965 — Jan & Dean appeared in the pilot for Dick Clark’s Where the Action Is.

• February 1965 — Liberty released “(Here They Come) From All Over the Word” . . . The theme from The TAMI Show.
• February 1965 — Jan & Dean appeared on the Lloyd Thaxton Show.
• February 1965 — Jan & Dean appeared on the The Hollywood Palace.
• March 1965 — Jan & Dean performed in Birmingham, Alabama, and New Orleans, Louisiana.
• March-April 1965 — “(Here They Come) From All Over the Word” peaked on the national charts: #50 Cash Box and #56 Billboard.
• April 1965 — Jan & Dean appeared on the Red Skelton Hour.
• April 1965 — Liberty released “You Really Know How To Hurt a Guy.”
• May 1965 — Jan & Dean recorded ads for the Coca Cola Company.
• May 1965 — Liberty released Jan & Dean’s Pop Symphony No. 1 (In 12 Hit Movements). Arranged and conducted by Jan Berry and George Tipton. This was a pet project of Jan’s, and he wrote the album’s liner notes.
• May 1965 — The Command Performance LP peaked on the national charts: #33 Billboard and #42 Cash Box.
• June 1965 — Jan & Dean performed at the Hollywood Bowl.
• June 1965 — Jan & Dean appeared on the Celebrity Game.
• June 1965 — Jan & Dean appeared on the Where the Action Is.

Easy Come, Easy Go — Jan & Dean’s Feature film for Paramount and Dunhill
• August 1965 — On the first day of shooting for Easy Come, Easy Go, Jan & Dean’s feature film for Paramount Pictures and Dunhill Productions, a railroad accident ended the project. The screenwriter was Maurice Richlin of The Pink Panther fame. Jan Berry suffered a severe compound fracture of his left leg when he jumped from a moving flatcar as it was rammed by a locomotive. Director Barry Shear suffered internal injuries. Seventeen film crew members and railroad employees suffered severe and minor injuries. Jan was rushed to Northridge Receiving Hospital, where doctors saved his leg. He remained in a cast for the rest of the year and into early 1966.

• September 1965 — Liberty released “I Found a Girl.”
• October 1965 — Liberty released the Jan Berry solo single “The Universal Coward” / “I Can’t Wait To Love You.”
• September 1965 — Jan & Dean appeared on The Dean Martin Show.
• October-November 1965 — The Golden Hits Volume 2 LP peaked on the national charts: #71 Cash Box and #107 Billboard.
• November 1965 — “I Found a Girl” peaked on the national charts: #30 Billboard and #39 Cash Box.
• November 1965 — Liberty Records released the Folk ‘n Roll LP.
On the Run — Jan & Dean’s Second Television Pilot
• November 1965 — Jan & Dean began shooting for their television pilot On the Run, developed by the ABC network and Ashmont Productions. A live performance was filmed at the Civic Center in San Diego. Hal Blaine and members of the Wrecking Crew backed the guys, with George Tipton conducting. Bones Howe engineered from a remote truck.
Dean Records with the Beach Boys
• November 1965 — Capitol Records released the Beach Boys’ Party! LP, featuring Dean Torrence doubling the falsetto lead with Brian Wilson on “Barbara Ann.”
• December 1965 — Capitol released “Barbara Ann” by the Beach Boys, featuring Dean Torrence.
• December 1965 — Liberty released “A Beginning from An End.”
• December 1965 — Jan & Dean headlined the Grand Opening of Dave Hull’s Hullabaloo Night Club in Hollywood (formerly the Moulin Rouge). Two live concerts were recorded which became the basis for Filet of Soul.
