Howcome there wasn t a stereo version of laurel and hardy and only a boy,was this down to a lack of funds while maiking the carnival of sounds,

i wonder if rhino will do another carnival cd,with the doors version of light my fire on it,and out takes from the carnival session

its a great cd and money well spent

Note that the stereo backing track presented does not match the mono version.  Perhaps the stereo backing with Jan's vocal  is all that survives,  I think there is twin-track mixdown of the released vocal one channel and and mixed instruments on the other.  Perhaps the backing is missing essential overdubs found only on the mono version.

I would like to hear the other songs with Jan's "La, La La..." vocals.

Andrew Sandoval didn't have a stereo mix he was happy with. He felt the four-track needed to be re-synched with the eight-track for a better result.

But as the Carnival of Sound project was winding down, Andrew was leaving the label . . . so time simply ran out.
