I donít know anything about it. Apparently he built a song around Deadmanís Curve because thereís no other Jan and Dean song that can make you want to cry. Lol. But unfortunately I donít know this artist or any background of this song.  Itís pretty cool though.

Hereís another one with a reference and same title.

This is pretty cool. His information is not completely accurate but cool none the less. He gives Arnie full credit for writing Jennie Lee. Thatís a common mistake

Good find Surferbee. Apple Music does have Jan and Arnie! Thank you

I think there needs to be a massive release of Jan and Arnie and early Jan and Dean. The re releases are still out there but at least the original albums are now available. These streaming services are where the music business is now.

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Jan and Arnie - online?

Something weird is going on. On Spotify only gas money is listed under Jan and Arnie. If you want to hear Jennie Lee, thatís under Jan and Dean. No other Jan and Arnie songs are available. On Amazon music, there is no Jan and Arnie. Is this on purpose?

It's possible that it's because they are seen as jumping on a bandwagon and maybe because of the help from Brian Wilson. but that ignores that fact that Jan and Dean and Jan & Arnie actually help start the entire California sound, long before the Beach Boys and Byrds. Also, it ignores the fact that Jan co-wrote those songs and arranged and produced them. Jan also co-wrote many hits without Brian Wilson's input. From the summer of 63 to the fall of 64, Jan co-wrote 12 hit songs, 5 of those were in collaboration with Brian Wilson. Perception does not favor Jan and Dean. However, the Byrds are perceived as geniuses. They simply took Bob Dylan songs and arranged and produced them very well. Jan wrote songs with Brian, Roger, etc. and then arranged and produced the hell out of them. So why the difference in perception? Jan actually did more than the Byrds. But that's the perception. That Brian just gave hits to Jan and Dean. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Donít feel bad that Jan and Dean are still not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. At least T Rex made it. SMH

WOW, that stuff was serious. It just seems silly now.
So it was okay for Brian and Jan to write together but Brian's vocal on Surf City, Drag City and Ride the Wild Surf was a violation just like Dean on Barbara Ann.
I'm glad they gave the middle finger to all that.

Iím looking forward to this book! I guess itíll be explained why it was a no no to work in the studio together. Brian didnít produce anything for Jan. He just sang some harmony. Not sure why thatís wrong. But anyway. Canít wait to read it!

I love hearing the evolution of how these songs were produced. Jan was way ahead of his time. In the end, I enjoy the final mono hit versions the most. If you donít have it, I strongly suggest getting ďComplete Liberty SinglesĒ.
With that said, my favorite version of ďNorwegian WoodĒ is actually on the new ďFilet of SoulĒ release.

Three Window Coupe-good one Owen. Of course, the Rip Chords had a top 30 hit with that Jan Berry composition. Nate, I love One Piece Topless Bathing Suit as a Jan Berry produced album cut! However, I just can't put any of the Phase II songs in the same category as the original era. But that's just me. Thanks guys
