DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Port To Paradise Cassette
« on: June 29, 2014, 06:25:15 AM »
Has anyone ever put the Port To Paradise Cassette on CD?

I have a copy of this. Must have bought it at a concert, because it is signed by Jan.

Label says: "J&D Records".

I've never had any problem remembering him...
And having 1 granddaughter and 1 Great granddaughter that shares his birthday of 4/3 just helps a bit.

Remembering Jan. Today would have been his 73rd Birthday.
Still miss you, but the Heavenly Choir sounds so much better.

Happy Birthday, Dean. Wishing you all the best.

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Malt Shop Cruise 2014

I was just poking around the net and found this

It says that Jan & Dean's Beach Memories starring Dean Torrence (oops, don't remember just how that was phrased - old age, ya know!)  will be cruising from November 2 - 9 2014.

I sure would like to be there. I'd better start saving up now. ;D

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / (Jan and) Dean on the news
« on: May 27, 2013, 04:49:41 AM »
I just saw Dean on CBS news, about the fire-rings on the beaches in California. There was a short clip of old Jan & Dean music.

Sure glad I didn't miss it.

I see a set on e-bay (cd & lp), and they do ship overseas.
The price is a little high, but you might be able to at least get one.

I bought a copy of "The Complete Early Years" in 2005 on e-bay. I thought it was impossible to wear out a CD, but I did it anyway.  I bought it because it had "Those Words" on it.  I'd made a copy of the CD on tape to play in my car, and of course, I've worn that out also.
Guess it is close to time to get a new CD, but I'll have to get a new playerfirst. Yep, I wore out it also.

Remembering Jan on the 6th anniversary of his death.
Gertie and all of his family and friends are still much in my prayers.

Just a fast note to wish Dean a very Happy Birthday - all 70 of them.

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Why do you enjoy Jan & Dean?

I was nearly 13 the first time I heard "Baby Talk". Jan & Dean became my favorites right then, and still are.

Am I the oldest on this group?

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Battle of the Bands
« on: January 02, 2010, 12:34:08 PM »
Unfortunately, Jan & Dean lost last week's Battle of the Bands.

Righteous Brothers - 53%
Jan & Dean - 47%

I wouldn't recommend Ebay to anyone; I know about some very dirty tricks they play >:(

Guess I've been lucky. I've used e-bay for more than 10 years with no real problems.   I've bought several Jan & Dean items there.
