CARNIVAL OF SOUND / Re: Carnival of sound Cost
« on: August 24, 2010, 03:34:06 PM »
From what I understand, most recording tapes from the early 60's until the mid 70's were made to last.  As long as they were stored properly.  In the mid 70's, tape manufactures started to make recording tape differently, leading to the sticky/shed problem.  When artists wanted to remaster their material in the digital age, the master tapes used would start to stick to the playback head of the machine.  The baking would help take out any moisture that would cause damage to the tape and the artist could then use the tape without problem.

I would love to see both original versions of Filet Of Soul and Jan and Dean Meet Batman released.
I believe a CD of their performance at the Hullabaloo Nite Club from December 1965 would make a great package as well.  It would be really cool if all of their albums starting with the Jan and Dean Sound up to One Summer Night Live were released in the Japanese mini lp cd box set format.  Containing both original mono and stereo mixes of course.
