Wish i could have met him too and seen him in concert, rather than on dvd. Rest in peace Jan.

I wish I could have met both guys also. I've seen them twice here on Long Island. First in Westbury, June 1981 and then at the night club called My Father's Place in Roslyn. That was in October 1981 where it was filmed and recorded for the live album One Summer Night. Both guys and the band were no more than ten feet away from our table. That was the last concert of them together for quite awhile. I did see Dean and his band a year or so after Jan passed away when they came back to Westbury.

love the one summer night album. Sounds great on vinyl on my stereo. Vinyl sound much better then any download or cd. Also have filet of soul a live one on vinyl

I totally agree with you 1Jay1, nothing beats vinyl (as long as it's in decent shape!). CD's, although very convenient, sound a little too harsh. The're great for playing in cars, I'll give them that. At home, I only play my original LP's and 45's. Yes, the One Summer Night LP is great. And what a show they put on that night in 1981. According to Mark's and Dean's books, Dean was quite pissed off at Jan and ended the duos act that night. At least for a year or so. I also remember Flo and Eddie (Mark Volman and Howard Kaylon of the Turtles) showing up and Dean introduced them as their fathers, Flo Torrence and Eddie Berry!
