DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Dean's Book
« on: June 14, 2016, 09:22:24 PM »
That is not Dean's book … Not sure what it is, but I can promise it is not Dean's book.

I thought it was as well, and erroneously reported that this was Dean's book.  Apologies to anyone who got the news from ESQ.

At present, Dean is still working on his book.

On another subject, Dean and I just completed The Beach Boys 2016 Official Tour program together.  Dean supplied the cover art, as well as the airbrushed lyrics to the Beach Boys' song "Good Vibrations" … I did the rest (40 pages).  Even though this program is being sold at Mike & Bruce shows, the content represents all members of The Beach Boys.

The Bamboo Trading Company is: Gary Griffin (Beach Boys band, Jan & Dean band, Brian Wilson band, Surf City Allstars), Matt Jardine (Beach Boys band, California Saga, Surf City Allstars), Randell Kirsch (Jan & Dean band, Beach Boys band), Philip Bardowell (Jan & Dean band, Surf City Allstars), Chris English and Miami Dan Yoe.  The group's debut CD features 13 tracks.

Dean appears on five songs, and sings lead on "Tweet (Don't Talk Anymore)."

Here's the first music video from the Bamboo Trading Company's CD! "Shrewd Awakening" is track #7 on the new album, and it stars Dean, Katie & Jillian Torrence, Gary & Elizabeth Griffin and actor Bruce Davison (who portrayed Torrence in 1978's "Deadman's Curve" TV movie).  "Shrewd Awakening" music video

It shows them and plays "(Here The Come) From All Over the World," could have been worse.

No footage. The camera crew went flying too. I suppose they might have that much. The accident that almost cost Jan his leg was the very last scene of the film. They decided to film that first…

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: New Image Banners
« on: April 08, 2010, 12:56:20 PM »
Thanks for the nice comments. My #1 goal was to show J&D as they were best remembered. I also wanted the 1958 and 1981 pictures to be about the same size because they are the first and last pictures of the duo on the two banners.

I can increase the size of one image, but I'd probably want to drop an image then. I have several outtakes from the "You Really Know How To Hurt A Guy" wax museum photo shoot. They are Dean's property. For lack of better definition, I am in some sense a curator for a lot of his pictures. I felt it was okay to use it in this context. I don't know how many were taken, and I'm sure Dean has no idea… Other than he might say, "A lot." It is a fun picture. Where else can you get an image of J&D between Hitler and Mussolini?
