DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Pray for Surf Interview
« on: April 27, 2022, 03:58:02 AM »
Jan and anyone

Jan and Dean had great chemistry together, Dean had even said in the past, about getting another person for the Jan and Dean pilot, he refused, saying it wouldn t be the same, according to mark passmore book, Jan could be difficult at times, so could Brian wilson ,Phil sloan be ok with that, I d say no, it also says in his book, Dean didn t want to record a new album,as it would have been like the 60s with Jan doing it his way,

Was there any reason for Dean to do the remakes?

Why didn't Jan get carnival of sounds released around the time Dean had  save for a rainy day, two great albums in opinion.

I agree with you Nate, it has to be both, and there's enough material to put out a great boxset,

I did email via the surfcity allstars web site, and I was told that Dean has no plans at the moment,

Tha Jan berry anthology is well over due a release, and a box set,

The stereo version of this song, has a lot more ad libs at the end,and hear Jan a lot more then the mono version,  so glad it's on the album. you can also hear Jan clearly on Love and hate, so its good to hear him on there.

Just recieved my copy of the beachboys with the philharmonic orchestra. Have to say I prefer the originals. One thing it has who played on each beachboys songs. It say hal blaine played on a lot of the recordings, both dean and dennis at times had other people doing their parts. Looks like brian wanted hal over dennis.
