JDman that's exactly right who gives a toss if Dean was in the Barons or not. However what is concerning about topics like this is when it's brought forward its like some huge revelation has been made that is really gonna change Deans standing or contributions to the duo. Its an ongoing thing and there appears to be a concerted effort to undermine Dean Torrence. So called fans agreeing with lines like "it could of been Jan and anyone", "Dean couldn't stand being around Jan" and there are numerous other cheap shots. Just like you all I'm interested in are the recordings some of the background to the recordings is of interest but this continual undermining of Deans role is ridiculous and it hurts Jan and Deans legacy alot more than a Ktel album. I know some of the fans find the McParland book as the be all and end all for Jan and Dean but personally I think it falls short but at the moment that's all there really is. These continual cheap shorts on Deans character have become extremely boring and unwarranted.
So all we can do is wait for Marks book and hopefully there will be an extensive section on the origins of Jan, Arnie and Dean.
Just for the record Deans on the Kjan radio show he can be heard clowning around whilst tracking a record.
