Good song with great production and lyrics that don't deserve to be on the same record as this otherwise great work

Is the complete "new" edit of Surfin' Safari available anywhere ? I like it much, much better than the terrible '63 version

Maybe this is interesting for some of you.

Don't drop it

You took my heart for a ride then you slung it aside
It was broken oh darling it was broken
My baby it was broken
Then like a sack an old, old sack honey
You came dragging it back
It was broken my baby it was broken
I said I wouldn't lend it till the day we was wed
But each time I kiss you I forget what I said
I'll let you keep it tonight if you hold it real tight
But dear don't drop it
My baby don't drop it
Well I said I wouldn't lend it till the day we was wed
But each time I kiss you honey I forget what I said
I'll let you keep it tonight if you hold it real tight
But dear don't drop it
My baby don't drop it
Oh darling don't drop it

Here's Jerry Lee Lewis' version:

CARNIVAL OF SOUND / Re: Jan about COS ?
« on: May 23, 2011, 10:33:25 AM »
Did Jan ever talk about the COS-album after he was recroding it? Maybe in the 80s ? Mark, did he ever talk to you about it? What did he have to say and what were his thoughts?

In 1967 Jan said it was the best music he ever made.

He talked to the media about it in 1968 while he was working on it.

He also talked a bit about it in later years, working with Glen Campbell, etc.

Thanks !
What did he say in later years? Was it still close to his heart? Did he ever try to put it out at later points? Any quotes you might have and can share?

CARNIVAL OF SOUND / Just got it !
« on: May 21, 2011, 04:41:20 AM »
It's been a long time, I know, but I just got COS and although I haven't even listened to the whole thing (right now it's playing "Love&hate" mono) I'm blown away. Great music and sound ! Only if it had come out back then. It could've been a hit....it should have been.... Thanks for everyone involved for bringing this fantastic project to us

I gotta ask:

Is there a way to get the liner notes on their own when you already have the albums?
