DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Jeannete Get Your Hair Done lyric question.
« on: April 08, 2018, 09:01:01 PM »
have a few lyrics i am not sure on would love your help! Thanks I may have messed up other lyrics that don't have ? by them

Oh you come to school in the slop of your dress
Your sweater is sagging and your hair is a mess
It's hanging in your face so you can't even see
Now when you come like that don't you ever talk to me

Oh Jeannette get your hair done
Why don't you ever get your hair done
Well if you want to please me can you ?????????
And get your hair done now

Oh I told you once and I told you twice
When you're around me you got to dress really nice
Well wear your crazy black shoes just for play
But don't wear it to school 'cause there's no track meet today

Oh Jeannette get your hair done
Why don't you ever get that hair done
Well I don't think it's fair that you don't fix your hair
So get your hair done now

Well I was going to ask you to a dance the other night
But I got to thinking that I want to do it right
Get it done up in a bun or a pony tail
And if you do it right it ???????????????

Oh Jeannette get your hair done
Why don't you ever get your hair done
Well you're a really cute girl so give it a whirl (Yeah)
And get your hair done now

I'm a gonna cut your hair off chick

Have anyone heard of this version of Mr Custer covered by Mike & Dean? Its very good and interesting! What do you guys think? Do you have any information on this cover? sounds like it maybe from the Rock n Roll City time frame.

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Surf City has beat of Custom Machine
« on: January 28, 2016, 01:47:42 PM »
I never noticed this until today but The Beach Boys custom machine ends the same way as Surf City Does! Is Dean singing in the ending? Have any of you guys ever notice that before??? CHECK IT OUT!

This is Jan & Dean's backing track of Do You Believe in Magic originally done by The Lovin' Spoonful in 1965. Jan Berry produced this track the same year. It is rumored that a finished track with vocals exists. If anyone has this version I would LOVE to hear it!

Anyone know the history of this song and when recording sessions this was at? Chopsticks Boogie was recorded in 1963 by Jan Berry and Brian Wilson.

Does anyone know this history about Sun City? It sure sounds like Mike on Lead with jan & Dean helping him out. It sure has a taste of Jan & Dean in the song especially calling it Sun City. I thought I heard Jan Berry helped on lyrics, but could be mistaking.

Anyone have any history on this song?

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / 2011 Jan & Dean single!?!?!?
« on: March 20, 2015, 06:29:59 AM »

Is this an offical single for Jan & Dean from their live album with all previouslly unreleased live recordings from California Tv Special released in 2001's CD Live In Concert: Surf City from the record company Legacy ATP062? It seems like a lagit single that got released as audio exclusive like most all singles do today for Ituns. I dont see why it wouldnt be counted as a Jan & Dean Single? This can be boughten off itune right now! The music is from the 1979 California TV Special! and songs never released before by Jan & Dean remake of California Saga: California! along with a live version of California Girls and Dance Dance Dance/Do you wanna dance.

Whats your guys opinion????

The song "The Theme From Leon,s Garage" is  a single released by Our Gang (Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean and Gary Zekley). The song is B side to "Summertime, Summertime". The song is the instrumental track of "Dont Be Gone Long" by the Ragamuffins Co-written by Gary Zekley, Don Altfeld, and Dean Torrence.

There are three new pages for Jan & Dean songs in the makings on Wikipedia in the makings! For Popsicle, Honolulu Lulu, and New Girl In School!

You Guys have anything great to add to them with reliable reference go ahead and do it! I would love to see these pages get made and not deny! I for see all three of these pages getting passed! Showing how great Jan & Dean is and how much they contributed to Rock N Roll!  ;D

I was wondering why we were missing a couple singles from the discography? They both are great singles One by Jan & Dean and the other by Jan Berry.

"Rock City" b/w "Its Gotta Be True"—JB (cassette single) (1984)
"Oh What A Beautiful Morning" b/w "Wa Ishi Nichi Shiow" Encore Studio (1987)

Does anyone ever heard or know the history of this song. Was it a single version or ever released on an album? I have never heard of this mix before! Would love to know any histroy or back ground on this version! I like it better then the origonal version!

Does anyone kow if The Rare Songs of Jan & Dean (A.K.A. The Barons), Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are avalible on CD or only avalible to download to the computer. I would like to get the CD album if possible. THanks
