DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: meeting Jan

The last time I spoke with Gertie was in 2004 -- we corresponded via mail for a short time after.  I, too, have greatly wondered how she's been over these years.

:)  ...very nice ...thank YOU and it was an honor to me to have Jan consider me a friend.  He did so with his fans and people everywhere!!  And he liked to introduce to each other and get to know one another. When I was with him at the hotel once, he called Rob and Sonya and wanted me to talk to them. I knew this was who was helping him to make "Second Wave" a reality.

Jan was always doing something special to make friends feel special.

He appreciated all you would do to help him ...soooo much and making time spent together fun.

After I met him the first time, January 1995... I wrote him a letter and put our phone number in there. When I was at work one day, my husband called and said--guess who just called!!!!  I knew! ...I just knew!!!!

To reply to you, Jason... Jan's song, "Only a Boy" has long intrigued me ...Doc Rock played it for me when I visited him in Toledo, Ohio, on my way home from a concert in Columbus, Ohio...I had not heard it and he told me the story how KOMA was a part ...coma / KOMA ...isn't that! something?!  Jan's horrific ordeal including a coma?!

Hi ...all of this reminds me of my thinking ...some of the things crossing my mind when I first was blessed to see them in 1995 ...anyone whose read my posts from back then will know it all mattered to me.

I got to see lots of special things.  Dean didn't want to rain on Jan's parade

And Jason--you are treasured! ...we go back ...many of us on here do, but it's something.  I love to hear from you--your input, and Stephen, Rockin Gran, Joseph, Phil and more!!

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Dean's Book
« on: June 17, 2016, 07:41:33 PM »
That is not Dean's book … Not sure what it is, but I can promise it is not Dean's book.

I thought it was as well, and erroneously reported that this was Dean's book.  Apologies to anyone who got the new from ESQ.

At present, Dean is still working on his book.

Is this the book you mean that is not Dean's book, David?

If it isn't written by Dean .... thanks for the info.  BUT ...how can someone on Amazon say it is written by Dean Torrence ....AND it is NOT?!!

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Birthday Special
« on: April 03, 2016, 08:16:41 PM »
Jim Armstrong wrote a cute message of their show they did today or recently -- Dean was there and they all must have remembered Jan especially on his birthday. That'd have been nice to be at.  So excited about Dean's scheduled release in September of his account !!   :D  Now that can be preordered on Amazon

Yeah ...i agree, Black Sea ...also bought a sealed "Folk 'n Roll" (seems like yesterday!!) ...n one night unwrapped it in front of Jan n Dean O

I wanted their waaaay cool autographing on it -- to me that is what it was all about -- showing them the monetary worth wasn't worth much ...but letting them know what their worth was and is

It's spelling out "and" stead of "&"

 :). That's really neat, Jason

Yes...i remember this as well--Jan writing the new song or songs.  It was written of by the picture on here where Jan is playing the keyboard, I think.  That's such a great idea for Dean to pick it up.  Love it.  As Jan's father would say:  swell !!

Yes ...i also love this sleeve.   Man!, you paid out big for this.

And I love ALL the shots from this time ...including the one I use for my name on here ...and on "Folk n Roll" and "Filet of Soul" and back of "Save For a Rainy Day"

As you described the detail of your "likes" in it, Actorman, it reminded me of Jan and the ampersand --

At the autograph table, after concerts, Jan would sometimes add the & ... for Dean to sign later ...he would try to remember what you call that.  He'd close his eyes and think

Does this change you speak of indicate you've had negotiations with Dean and reached amicable goals?  ( even mutual )...that'd be great

Also, Dean has shared, two days ago, on his Facebook page, a link to his and Jan's TV pilot ...which I find really cool, cuz before now, he's acted like, "...that old thing"

The version he linked was put on a couple months ago.   :)
