I've always wondered how much was Jan and how much was George Tipton.

So much better than a Beach Boy line or even worse a Beatles "Drive my Car line.

Does it say who and why they decided to replace Jan's vocals ? It would be nice to have the original vocal track with Jan's and not the off key singer they replaced him with. This was a slap in the face to all with a handicap like Jan's .

I say DO NOT PUNCH THAT HOLE. Why ? You see stuff on ebay all the time . Like say Evel Knievel toys . The Action Figures that were sold in the packs that hung on the stores little metal rods . That never made it to the store . It is always a selling point when there intact and not punched.

Yeah Blacksea and mike1965. I remeber reading that it was important to Dean to show the fans what F of S was really to have been. The packaging was used by every other music Journalist to write about J&D for the next 20 years. All misreading the newspaper article. It was telling of Accidents of the weekend . Not just Jan's . And so he was "blamed " for 3 people death in every Music bio book for years.

It's not that uncommon for an artist to not like a lot of their or their bands work.
Elivis really did'nt care for R&R . At least as much as he liked Gospel and stuff like In the Getto.... Linda Ronstadt who is in the R&RHOF. HATED the Buddy Holly covers and other R&R hit's that put her on the map. Most of the "Wrecking Crew " were Jazz players and Hated the stuff they played on. And last but not least Quite Riot hated Slade and their song  "Cum on Feel the Noise' . They only did it as an album filler and after one of the "suits" insisted on them doing it.

I talked to her on her site . And yes she booted me too. She HATES Rock and Roll . And for some reason Jan's and other surf music was "Ditch Digging music " DUGGA DUGGA DUGGA. How ever Brian and Phil were musical geniuses . I ask her how it was to work with a real genius Jan Berry . And she had no idea he was one . I let her know he was . And in med school . She also will cut and paste this I was the number one on call bassist . So if it was recorded it was me . Complains that they never got credit from the bands . But doesnt care when pointed out that Jan did on Surf City. I was kicked off after I told her she need to listen to the tracks she recorded for Jan & Dean . That since she had to play the stuff( R&R )10 -12 hrs  a day . She didnt realize how good it was. Tommy Tedesco called her "A Dumb C*%t . Sooooo
