Gee, I was singing it wrong also.  I thought it was 'That' 57 Chevy is nothing but mine'..  fine makes also sense.  Thanks, Mark!  I would love to see a live footage on a concert during 63, something on Drag City... is there any?

I would be very  interested to see more pictures of Jan in the studio with Brian and perhaps with the Beach Boys or other artists.  That would be very cool.
Who would want to see pictures of Jan after the accident or being in ICU?  First, it would not be a good sight and then it would be disrespectful to the family.  It was very painful to many close to him. If there are any pictures like that, please do not post them.. that's not right.  Stick with the music and try to find a way to get Jan & Dean induced in the R&R Hall of Fame. :)

Mike - Thanks for answering both of my questions.  I thought it was Ken.  The album is not one of my top favorites, but it does have few good songs.

I have just recently got the album 'Save For A Rainy Day' and I am aware that all songs were sung by Dean.  I like the song 'Yellow Balloon'.   I wanted to ask 2 questions.  Did this song cut the charts?  My second question is about the cover,  Is that Jan with Dean on the cover or Ken and Dean?

This is constantly on my mind... when Jan had the accident back in 1965 and his bones were pretty much shattered that he almost lost his leg, and then he had cast for a months.. did he had pins in his leg?  I just wonder how well his leg healed and if he had any physical therapy.  I would thought that having a cast for such a long time and perhaps having this type of surgery, that he might would not passed through the actual physical.  Or was that not taken into consideration? How well was his leg healed by the time he went to talk to the military folks.  I am not knowledgeable about military stuff, but I was just wondering about this.

Does anyone know if Hal is still playing at concerts or recording at studios?

This is a great interview and a big highlight showing that Dean was not part of Jennie Lee.  Thanks for the post.  I wonder if there are more other interviews with Arnie.

Got to see Dean this year in SC and my 16 year old son wore a J&D 79' shirt.  Dean was so full of joy seeing a teen wearing that shirt, that he felt in tears.  He complimented my son at least 2-3 times and then he said that he has one of those shirts somewhere in his closet.  Although, they played some BB and also J&D music, my son told me that the J&D music really rocks.

Thank you for sharing the story with us.  It also brought me in tears.  It shows how smart Jan was.  I wonder if that was due to his high IQ he had before the accident  that he was able to push himself and get around as he did after the accident.  Which makes me question if someone with a lower IQ was able to do what Jan did or would just give up.  Jan Berry was a genius and a big inspiration to many.

Black Sea - Yes, I met David Beard and he is very nice.  He actually told me to write a letter to ESQ with my concern.  I haven't done so yet, but I am considering it.  Perhaps as you say, they could dedicate some pages in one of their issue to Jan & Dean.  Doing so, it could help keep more members around, not just the Beach Boys but also Jan & Dean fans.  He is also a very close friends with Dean.  Like the Beach Boys, we want the younger generation to learn and know Jan & Dean's music and their history.  I am still hoping that we can get them into R&RHF

I have just ordered this book last week to add it to my collection and thank you all for the reviews... Still, we know that Mark's book will answer all or most of  our questions.  I am so looking forward to reading it.
Talking about a Tribute to Jan.. Well, just recently I told David Beard how disappointed I was that ESQ did not even touched Jan Berry's 10 year anniversary when he passed nor mentioned his Birthday.   How sad is that, when even Brian himself mentioned that Jan was the genius in the studio.  Jan & Dean were a hit before the Beach Boys.  This really broke my heart and I am no longer subscribing to their magazine.

I love every one of them.  My favorites are the TAMI Show and also both pilot movies, because you can see a lot of them.  I agree also that Mary has done great job on some of those clips, very nice and thanks Mary!
I like the Sidewalk Surfin' video, it's funny  :)
