CARNIVAL OF SOUND / My Carnival Of Sound Deluxe Edition Just Arrived!
« on: February 26, 2010, 04:18:00 PM »
It's unbelievable!  You get a lot for your money. The album cover is thick like a book and the labels on the vinyl and cd are so cool not to mention the booklet.  The sound will give you a whole new respect for these great songs.  I'll definitely be buying another to keep sealed as well as the individual CD.  Thanks to everyone involved in making this come true.

I've always loved Pocketful Of Rainbows.  Such a sweet little song surprisingly from the movie G. I. Blues.

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Europe and The uk jan and dean fans

I would love to see that Laurel & Hardy museum myself.  Growing up in the sixties we loved watching them on TV, usually on Saturday night on Channel 11 in Dallas.  It's a shame young people today have no idea who they were.  The humor was top notch and the stunts were amazing.  I read that Stan Laurel had a listed phone number in the last years of his life and would meet with fans. I wonder if Jan ever met him.

It sure was cool to hear "That's The Way It Is."

Lots of great J&D sites now, that's for sure.  I love Dean's Gallery HB artwork.

I guess I don't have that but I did just get my hands on the CD.  The Ride The Wild Surf sessions with Brian are more than I hoped for.  What a thrill!

Does anyone remember this? I think I got it from Australia back in the early eighties.  It's pretty neat.

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Jan Bery's 1966 Corvette Stingray

When I asked Jan to sign my copy of Folk n Roll he said "Aw, this was the last one we did," and just looked at it for a short while.  He told me he was really doing the town back then right up until  his wreck.

This just keeps getting better.  Thanks Mark.

On May 14,1984 Jan Berry came to the small East Texas town where I grew up.  Imagine my surprise when I saw this advertised in the paper.  I wish I had told Jan when I met him that Elvis had played this same auditorium in 1955.  The article is in two parts because my scanner isn't big enough.
