DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Dean's new CD.. is it still happening?
« on: July 29, 2013, 07:28:46 AM »
Thanks Owen!
That seems to make the most sense. So Dean doesn't have a solo record about to happen but the hype of him possibly making one got a little overboard.

Nice to see Dean enjoying himself in the studio.. who knows what the future brings. :)

There was talk about 6 months or so ago about Dean doing a solo CD of new material. Is this still happening or is this become part of the Bamboo Trading Company release? ???

  :-\

now if we could just get them back on CD again (a real substantial format)

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / yeay! Finally...
« on: January 04, 2011, 03:57:22 PM »
celebrating a bit tonight.. finally purchased a copy of "Little old Lady.../Filet of Soul"
( oneway cd) for a reasonable price.. $20

This all but finishes off my year long quest to get a complete set of the boy's lps on CD.  Only one remaining is the Command Perf/Batman
disc which is major $$'s so unless  there is a reissue in the future will remain just on vinyl

 :D

would be nice if Capitol/Liberty stopped sitting on their hands and re-released the Jan & Dean catalogue for the USA fans....

 :)

thanks Mark

that means really its just
 Jan's Tomorrow's Teardrops  ( nice song..thanks youtube!)
and Whole Lotta Lovin' ( also nice, again thanks youtube!)
that are missing...

Mark,
Do you know the story on WLL ?

interesting so far...
I'm assuming the quality of the 3 recordings listed  here are about the same.

so
songs missing from "the Complete Early Years" are

from  TEEN SUITE: 1958-1962 — Varese Sarabande, 1995
17. Tomorrow's Teardrops - Jan Berry - ('61)
20. Whole Lotta Lovin' - ('62)

from JAN & DEAN - [Re-Issue of 1960 Dore Album] — ERA, 1996

2. Judy - ('59) — JB, DT  single version
5. Oh Julie - ('60)

comments on these songs people?

and the "Complete Early Years"  has
24. Those Words
32. Your Heart Has Changed its Mind
33. Frosty the Snowman
34. Linda (Live at the Brooklyn Fox, Murray the 'K's Holiday Show 1963)
28. Gotta Getta Date (speeded up alt. take)
29. Gas Money (speeded up alt. take)
30. Judy (alt. album version)

which the other two cd's don't have..
Those Words & Your Heart Has Changed its Mind  I'm not familar with either.

so discounting Tomorrows Teardrops, because its just Jan, and recognizing that a version of Judy is available,
only  20. Whole Lotta Lovin' - ('62)  and  5. Oh Julie - ('60)  are totaling missing from the  "The Complete Early Years"

Hi everyone

I'm still looking for a One Way version of Little Old lady/Filet Of Soul  and Take Linda Surfin/Ride The Wild Surf.
I was hoping not to have to break the bank to get them.. a vendor tied to Amazon.com has a copy of TLS/RTWS  for only $12, but will not ship to Canada. :-[
needs to be the One Way versions for the right grouping of lps..

So if anyone sees these two cd's in the $20 range (new or used) please remember me.

thanks

This is the copy of "Save For A Rainy Day" to have:

Nice stereo.
