Sounds like Mark's sessionography. Which I am really looking forward too plus his biography f Jan.

Record wise - those of you who have read my postings over the years will know that for a long time I have been hoping for a box set. Artists with one or two minor hits have elaborate sets. I know this is commercially driven but it would be great to have a box set. Maybe another thread could offer suggestions. I would like stereo / mono but if there are any gems such as Jan producing Dead Man's Curve (SCtDC) or working on Ride the Wild Surf with Brian (Hang 50) they would probably be the icing for us fans.

Complete Liberty Singles - I like Gotta Take that One Last Ride too. Mono versions of 3 Window Coupe and others. An incomplete package with some odd exclusions and inclusions but equally some great mono album tracks.

This is hard! I agree that Ride the Wild Surf is a great vocal but can I add another rather unusual thought? Folk 'n' Roll has an uneasy reputation but includes some of Jan's best vocals - showing that he was capable of different styles. It Aint Me Babe is a real favourite - a great arrangement - a really tight rhythm, great drumming and great vocals. Unusual I know!

Yes - Yesterday - a Jan and Dean track that lots of non-Jan and Dean fans love. A classy vocal and a great production.

Given that record companies were not happy for their contracted artists to be recording with others on different labels there remains some mystery and some contention about who sang or played on what song. I know that we have some documentary evidence to confirm or deny some of the rumours (it doesn't stop it being good fun to speculate!)
I wondered whether Jan and or Dean ever worked with Gary Usher.

I'm intrigued as to whether the album will feature some of the arrangements you used on the tribute album. The various bootleg versions I've heard don't. The tribute album featured some exciting and adventurous background harmonies. I Know My Mind especially.
Did the original album have any art work? I wasn't sure it ever got that far!
