DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: "The Jan & Dean Record" — Book Release
« on: February 19, 2016, 10:26:55 PM »
When I log into my Amazon account, then the info I get is that I have ordered this item on August 6th and I will be notified via email about the delivery date.  When I look at book title, then it says that the paperback will be issued on March 11th.  I will be moving to Santa Barbara on that date... so I am hoping to get the book very soon. Does anyone has the definite date on it's release yet?

I wish I could get my book signed.  Do you know the date in February yet?  Hopefully, we get snowed in after I get my copy.

I bought my copy a few weeks ago on ebay for about $7.00. It has some good artists on it and I believe Ricky Nelson's boys sing their dad's songs.  I wonder if this show is available on a DVD.

I pre-ordered and bought that DVD when the Wrecking Crew site announced it.  I thought there is great info and enjoyed Hal talking about J&D.  Like you all, I wish there was more info about them, because they certainly deserve it. I find the documentary pretty cool, learned some new stuff about other artists.

She also had nice things to say to me about Jan Berry and I have the impression that she is very respectful for him.  She posted on her page once that if someone mention the 'Wrecking Crew' that she will delete and block them.  That got me a little wondered. She seems very open and forward.

'Port To Paradise' which was only available on cassette and now available on CD, can be purchased on E-Bay.  Here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jan-and-Dean-Port-To-Paradise-Collectors-Paradise-Gold-Edition-22-Track-Gold-/151716387845?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

Thanks for the clarification.  There is a song Randell Kirsch ... "Roll The Window Down".   Did Jan Berry sung on that song?  I thought I read it somewhere and the back vocal sounds like him, but could be someone else.

I believe that one was released sometime  in 1990 and produced and arranged by Jan Berry... I could be wrong though

I am sure that David is writing Dean's book.  He is also running his page on FB .   Jan is lucky to have you on his side, because you know the truth and that all matters.  If we had a release date, I would be counting the days.  Just can't wait for your book to be out.  I really appreciate  the time you spent in research and writing this book.  - Thank you!

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Jan & Dean books on Amazon

I have all 3 Vol of these Archives. Good stuff, just some of the copies are a little faded.   Btw.  If you know Gary Zenker, he is selling most of his J&D and Beach Boys collection, including the Archives.   He posted it in several groups on Facebook.  The collection includes LPs, books, fanzines, etc.  Personally, I am looking for a Fan Club newsletter from November 1961.

The collector series are awesome.  Lately, I have been listening to Surf City (and other swingin' cities) and also to J&D meet Batman.  Of course, it's hard to pick which one is the best.

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Jan & Dean on the run (pilot)
« on: May 27, 2015, 12:29:41 PM »
I was wondering if the J&D pilot, the scene at San Diego Zoo, was filmed in February 1966.  The Beach Boys were at the Zoo on February 15th, to shoot for their Pet Sounds.  I was wondering if they all were there at the same time.
