Oh I see it . Both he and Dean were full time students all through their career .
it would have been so much easier . And they would have had a much more lucrative and productive career. If Jan like Brian and Phil could've spent 24/7 on music and not studies. Dean has said their collage gave them an advantage over other acts who had music and nothing to fall back on so they had to tow the line .  While he and Jan could start over anytime.  A big factor in their "Jan&Deanism".

Singers even "Solo" use double lead vocals all the time. Some give credit some deny it.
Watch HEE HAW and you will see Don Rich in the shot almost every time he's doubling Buck Owens.  It's like Buck insisted he be shown. , as you can tell it is no accident he is in the shot. He won the in the later shows as he was killed in a motorcycle accident.

After Jan's train accident there were plenty of pics of him in the hospital bed . Liberty in an attempt to capitalize on Jan's car accident . Put pics of him and his crutches on Album covers ...... Even though those were from the train not the car. I would have to say there were prob a few photos taken of Jan and guest in his hospital room.

I had an org 45 and if I remember it's B-side was Bucket-T . I think the lyrics also said "Riddler , Penguin , Joker they go and hide . As opposed to Criminals like the Joker they go and hide . Is that right ?  :o

You know if you think about it , All the Beach Boys music is Jan & Dean music . At least the Ca sound stuff so by Dean doing Beach Boys songs he is really continuing Jan's legacy.
No Jan & Dean No Beach Boys

Yeah they just want to do the top hit's . But I would rather hear all "B" sides as opposed to BB stuff.
Barbara Ann was a Regents song . But J & D did a more Ca sound . The BB with Dean on lead copied the J&D version as everything else.

1WALLY1 I have to say anyone who spends 15 years with someone is a part of their history. Bob Greene was a well know writer in newspaper circles before this book. I'm just glad he did it on Jan & Dean they need all the press they can get.

Bob Greene's book was about HIS experience with Jan & Dean . NOT a book about Jan & Dean.
When read in that light it's better understood.

In their spare time Jan would give driving lessons . Telling his students  " Never exceed the posted speed limit." While Dean when not plotting kidnapping semi famous children of famous people would spend time at The Blue Fox  or riding his White Bros skateboard .  ::)

There is an old thread on here that discusses .  Frank Sr's  possible involvement in the sabotage of Jan's Corvette .  He and Dean were living together at the time and both were driving Sting Ray 's . An  LAPD  officer at  a cremony putting Jan's name on the writing LOL from Pas . Made the comment it was too bad  Frank got the wrong one.
