Interesting Jan & Dean selection in movie 11/22/63

I was watching 11/22/63 on Hulu. I read the book and had to see it. It's show episode 3 now. As the actors are talking at school in 1962, you hear Jan & Dean's Gee. At first I figured it was another version but that was definitely Jan's voice on the intro. I Shazamed it and sure enough. It's Jan & Dean. I only mention it cause I've never heard their version of Gee on any movie or radio before. Pretty cool!!

Yes, I remember that. That was the biggest book I ever read. The Jan and Dean Record is second  lol

For some reason the movie went with Gee instead of Surf City
