Surf City has beat of Custom Machine

I never noticed this until today but The Beach Boys custom machine ends the same way as Surf City Does! Is Dean singing in the ending? Have any of you guys ever notice that before??? CHECK IT OUT! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpcGEOEeBb0

"Surf City" came first. The track was recorded in March 1963. Vocals in April.

The "Custom Machine" fade is the same . . . the rest not so much beyond a drum beat and similar cadence in the verse.

Listening to them both really highlights the strong arrangements and production that Jan used. The Beach Boys' backing tracks are pale in comparison to Jan and Dean's. It is only when Brian started using Hal and the Wrecking Crew that we start to get that strong rhythm and driving sound that Jan initiated.

That said I like Dennis' vocals on Custom Machine. He brought an edge to the vocals that contrasted so well with Brian's. Pity he wasn't used more.
