Went to the show last Wed in Mesa . The guy's sounded good , a good mix of J&D BB stuff with Margaritaville thrown in . Wish they would've did another J&D!!!! But maybe that was a tie breaker. Got to talk to Dean a little . Said he should write the final chapter of his book this year. And signed my Origanial Surf City sheet music . He pointed out the finger he was giving and said some had it taken out so look at yours [ if you have one] and see if it's there!.
I saw them back in September '09, at the ESQ bash.
David Marks's solo set hit me pretty hard. He's an incredible guitar player. Very blues oriented. Also a trained musician.
The whole show was fun. Drank many beers and had a blast. On the first night, someone goofed on "Barbara Ann" . . . and Dean started lookin' at his watch . . . "Is it time to go yet"? . . . It was pretty funny.
Finally got Dean to sign my original copy of
Save For A Rainy Day (JD-101). Had to cut the shrink-wrap off for the occasion
