A Beginning From An End

Anyone know what inspired Jan to write, A Beginning From An End?  I do not believe Dean sings on it.

Dean does indeed sing on it.

I would guess it was inspired by Jan's medical ambitions. A little too overt, but the instrumental backing track is fantastic.

Bear in mind, too, that Jan's father's first wife died in childbirth in 1937.

It's referenced in a pop culture book , External Combustion, made the Pop Schlock - Bad Taste Is Timeless Section.
"In imagining objectionable song subjects, not even the most perverse mind would touch upon women dying in childbirth. Yet, at least two reasonably well known pop songs have dealt with this grisly topic. Jan and Dean who had already blotted their copybook with the right wing The Universal Coward, cut a 1965 album track called A Beginning From An End. During a spoken interlude ( always a danger sign) Jan expounds; I can still recall that stifling....."
Glenn A Baker.
Jan and Dean also made the Right Wing Pop section of the book with Universal Coward and Only A Boy.
