New Book

 Will the new book contain stories and Brian Wilson/others interviews? Or is it strictly a reference guide? I look forward to it no matter what it is, I'm just asking.

Yes, it is a lengthy book with lots of commentary from Jan's personal and professional associates (and family), including Dean.

It is very much Jan-centric . . . but it's important to remember that Dean is writing his own memoirs, so that's something we can all look forward to in the near future.

The way it worked out, it's really a combination of biography and reference, which renders my earlier stated intentions for separate projects inaccurate.

In other words, it will be titled and marketed as a reference work, but you'll still get the biographical information.

Having been a Jan and Dean fan since the sixties and suffered misinformation, no information and stuff that seems to have been made up it will be great to have a definitive Jan Berry book. If Dean manages his own memoirs we will have both sides - which I guess was Jan and Dean all along.

Does this change you speak of indicate you've had negotiations with Dean and reached amicable goals?  ( even mutual )...that'd be great

Also, Dean has shared, two days ago, on his Facebook page, a link to his and Jan's TV pilot ...which I find really cool, cuz before now, he's acted like, "...that old thing"

The version he linked was put on a couple months ago.

Dean contributed in a meaningful way, just not on the same level as Jan's inner circle-type associates. We'll get Dean's in-depth view of things in his own book.

I suspect David Beard is writing the content for Dean's Facebook page, making it seem as if Dean is writing it. Dean doesn't care for social media, but it's good that he has David to work it for him.

I saw a link to a story somewhere recently, maybe on Facebook, where Dean said he would end his book with details about a development deal he's working on in Louisiana. Sounded pretty interesting.

I just read the article. This is very interesting. NASCAR, Theme park, music. Surfing. Cars. Amusement park. I live here in Louisiana and this blows my mind. I wonder what Dean is up to. I hope it happens!

I am not involved in Dean's book.  I was not there, and did not experience Dean's life.  I think — not sure — that he is doing it solo.
