Reading through my 45s and came across the single Vegtables on the Ua record label, UA 50859 Written by Brian Wilson and van dyke parks, Started recording 1968,finished 1971,and Jan berry background with Brian Wilson,

How true is this,as if true it would been recorded around the time of Carnival of sounds

  Very true. The Laughing Gravy single was recorded in the summer of 1967 for release in October the same year. (White Whale WW 261). The 1971 overdubs were added for the version that Dean included on Jan & Dean's ANTHOLOGY release in early 1972.

 In an alternate reality "Vegetables" might have made the cut on a fully realized and released version of CARNIVAL OF SOUND. It certainly fits better than "Only A Boy."

 "Vegetables" on Carnival?  I like the idea but you gotta figure someone would say "there they go borrowing from The Beach Boys again." ;D
