Dead Man's Curve/The New Girl In School is a solid original LP.
Jan wrote the music for all of the following album cuts: "Bucket T," "Rockin' Little Roadster," "My Mighty G.T.O.," "Barons, West L.A.," and "Hey Little Freshman."
Those are among the best album cuts in the Jan & Dean canon (and a variation of "My Mighty G.T.O." was a single B-side).
Jan withheld his name from these songs in an effort to publish them with Brinkley Music (a ruse), and then transfer them to Trousdale Music. That effort failed because Jan was legally obligated to Screen Gems as a songwriter. He was signed to the company and was not allowed to work with other publishers or production companies.
Jan also wrote the music for "The Little Old Lady (from Pasadena)," but purposely withheld his name for the reasons described above.
He lost his credits officially on all of these due to a 1964 lawsuit by Screen Gems and the resulting "Settlement Agreement." Jan's credits were finally legally restored in 2002.
