Cindy - The First Surfer Girl?
« on: December 17, 2014, 04:50:36 PM »
"Oh, lucky me! The wind and the sea sent Cindy to me"!!  Catchy tune by Jan & Dean not often mentioned.  I think Cindy may have been the first "Surfer Girl".

jan and dean made some great tracks before the surf sound, what about baggy pants, and white tennis sneakers, all great tunes, and we go together,

Agreed!  My favorite is, "Such A Good Night For Dreaming".

"Cindy" was one of the early gems, when Jan and Dean were writing songs together. That dynamic did not last.

I ve read that Roger Christian and Dean were part of the writing of surf city, and when The song came out Roger wasn t happy his name wasn t on the record as credits,it was Dean who said 34 wagon/woodie, the theme was a 33 panal truck  and was deleted from the song, I'd love to hear Dean side of the writing of Surf city, and anyone who has info on Roger Christian side as well.

That would have made the song a Berry,Torrence, christian, wilson,

Sure that came from Mark passmore book,or from stephen mcparland Vol 1 or 2.
