Have a look at this one story in the LA Times, Dean plays Barbara Anne couple of days ago.
And don't forget to get a copy of The Bamboo Trading Company, new ep released on the fourth of July featuring Dean.

The new ep from the Bamboo Trading Co is just a itunes download too much mucking around to get the cover and and CD printed.  I'v got the  KITTYHAWK TO SURF CITY CD.  I 've been listening to it in the car great stuff. Do yourself a favour and get a copy.
Same deal with the Japanese J & D releases until they're packaged properly for sale I won't be buying.  Down loading onto a blank CD and putting the cover CD label together just doesn't cut it, pardon the pun.
UNTIL NEXT TIME

Yeah its no big deal putting it together, but the Jan and Dean Jap releases definitely need to be packaged properly.

Which Japanese CDs are you referring to?  The Liberty Album reissues from EMI-Toshiba a couple years back?  Those were packaged beautifully: great cover art reproduction (front and back), nice booklet, full lyrics, white jewel boxes, Liberty label art reproduced on the disc.  I was actually reallly hoping they would release the rest of the catalog.  I thought they were outstanding.

I wasn't aware of any other recent Japanese releases.

Yeah the EMI Toshiba ones are the ones to get. The others forget them, one way C5 and a couple other labels, worst one probably Raven records. The Toshiba EMI ones are the best, however the fully packaged ones have been on back order since the first run, managed to get a few of them but all they are now are downloads. You'll probably recommend ebay but I don't buy second hand, that is CDs. Toshiba didnt press up enough packaged copies and have left it as a download. Got one on backorder its been a year I doubt they'll do another run.
Cheers

Black Sea you're wrong lol. This new set are American and yes these ones have never been packaged properly. I don't trust anything except Jap copies. I've sampled all the various releases and the Jap copies are by far the best. I mean they knock out even the original vinyl releases. Now Sundazed they know how to package but the final product on SFARD is a complete let down they really made a meal out of it, the sound of one of my bootlegs sounds better. Packaging is one thing but you gotta get the sound right.

By the way wasnt this thread originally about an article in the LA Times something about Dean playing a ukelele and you giving the bamboo trading company a big wrap.
Until next time stick to the original topic lol.

Yeah we'll there's some great tracks on the CDs and Deans involvement is just an added bonus. David Marks what more can you ask for. Great mixture of tracks. Some great power pop, favourite track Kitty Hawk and Deans girls do a great job. The sitar is used well.

Yep Ill have to agree on that one , Kitty Hawk, sounds like something Dom Mariani penned from the Someloves LP , Something or Other. Sitar  obviously a JAN BERRY influence there, Carnival of Sound.
Until next time KEEP IT JAPANESE
