Those Words

Hi All

Doing my occasional trawl through Jan and Dean's early stuff and was listening to Those Words which for some reason was quickly taken off the record and replaced. Does anyone know why?

The song has a very interesting construction - far more sophisticated than at first listen. A hidden gem.

"Those Words" was based on a song called "Tick Tock" by the Innocents (produced by Kim Fowley and Gary Paxton). Same melody as "Tick Tock," but "Those Words" featured different lyrics. There was tension between Lou Adler and Fowley, so the song was dropped.

Was this a copyright issue then or just a personal bust up?

Those Words is quite different although I can hear the echoes of Tick Tock.
