Yeah, a collection like that is on the list of projects I'd like to pursue.

The most successful "outside" Jan Berry related song was "I Adore Him" . . . a #13 smash on the R&B charts.

Production-wise, "Judy Loves Me" (Johnny Crawford) cracked the Top 100 and "Come On Let Yourself Go" (Matadors) was featured in the Columbia Pictures film, The New Interns in 1964.

So I guess he was more succesful with his productions than Brian Wilson, right? I think there's alot of good stuff in Wilson's work too. "He's a doll" should've been huge. But along came the Beatles....

BTW there was an answer-song to "I adore him" called "I adore you", by Tommy Regan. Produced by Artie Kornfield. Don't have too much info, sorry

Tommy Regan - I ADORE YOU (1965)

I don't think any of Brian Wilson's outside productions charted.

It's definitely in the same "girl group" genre, and the Marvelettes came first. But the Angels' "I Adore Him" is a more complex arrangement and production.

Saying that the Angels "stole" from the Marvellettes is like saying that Brian Wilson "stole" from the Four Freshmen . . . which is to say, duh, of course he did. :)
