New Jan & Dean Purchases

Anyone purchased any Jan & Dean releases recently?

Just got Drag City (£3.33) and Surf City (£3.22) on C5 Records, the first CD editions released in the U.K. in 1990.

Would like to purchase a copy of Command Performance/Batman but it is either £127 or £194 on Amazon!  Wish they would re-release it with the original artwork.

Purchased Ride The Wild Surf/Folk n' Roll on BGO for the original wide, better-sounding stereo mix of "Folk n' Roll" -- got the mono mix for Ride The Wild Surf LP on the same CD.

The "Command Performance/Meet Batman" One Way two-fer is OK but the mastering on Meet Batman is kind of flat (but stereo and the only issue I know of on CD).  Generally I'm not too impressed with One Way's masterings.  The C5 you found are great!

That's good to hear that the C5 CD's have good sound, will probably get all the Jan & Dean ones, I think they are as follows:

Pity they didn't release Batman, shame to hear that the mastering is not too good on the One Way version, especially as it is the only version on CD that I am aware of.

If you'll go buy Second Wave, buy it from Gertie Berry by mail, sending $20 plus a order request avaible in pdf in Jan's website.
