Fantastic record package - Great artwork and even better mixes... and now I can hear the vocal tracks on Hawaii finally!! Is it possible for someone to upload the original lyrics?  I want to read and sing these great songs - my miming abilities just don't cut it. Thanks!

Okay, some new threads are going up with the lyrics -- starting with "Hawaii."

Here's a note that Jan & Dean aficionado Elliot Kendall put on a public yahoo board . . . so I thought I'd share it here. Fans may remember that Elliot wrote the liners for J&D's "Teen Suite 1958-1962" comp.

Quote
Just nabbed the finished TAMI DVD and Carnival Of Sound CD -- both are the coolest freaking Jan Dean masterpieces officially released in recent years -- gems on TAMI are commentary by Steve Binder, he gets WAY deep on why The Beach Boys were chopped out, how cool and underappreciated the dancers were/are, how all the artists that performed were mega-groovy and no egos and all appeared at the end to prove that they were ALL there at once --- and how J&D management was in the same building as he was, etc etc -- TAMI radio spots are also part of the bonus material (voiced by Wink Martindale? Someone probably knows or it might be in the booklet) -- Binder as many of you know is the same visionary who was behind Hullabaloo and Elvis '68 Comeback Special --- commentary is well worth the wait and super heavy ---

------ the Carnival I got was the CD version from an industry bro, but I plunked down on the credit card for TWO copies of the genius LP-sized $49.95 deluxe-o version, both versions are expected to go fast, haven't seen the deluxe yet but the CD sounds amazing, killer mastering --- "Louisiana Man" and all the freaky sitar by way of the surf is completely intact, crisp and clean -- Sandoval, Stanley, Hersch, Farber, Moore, Priore NAILED IT and the insanely great "rainy day vibe" artwork by Dean and overall packaging are pure clown prince trippy eye candy --- can't wait to dig into the notes @@@@@

Just got my copy in the mail and, man, it sounds really great. The stereo mixes are really well done, but the mono really tears it up. I've always been pretty ambivalent about this record except for Blowin My Mind, Fan Tan , and Hawaii, but I intend to give it a good listen and re-appraisal in the next few days. Good work all involved!

I keep seeing references to "1,500" copies of the LP+CD set.  Where is that number officially documented?  My set isn't numbered and I don't recall seeing 1,500 (or any number) on the Handmade site.

I ordered too

The "Carnival of Sound" LP looks great side by side with my original British CBS stereo vinyl copy of "Save for a rainy Day"

If I recall correctly, Sandoval has mentioned that number.

I might be wrong but were any UK pressings found with a cover?  I seem to recall that a few LPs were found but no covers.

The British "Save for a rainy Day" albums have no cover

Only three copies are known to exist and they come in a plain white sleeve

Two copies have a promo stamp on the label - mine hasn't  8)

Got the CD-only package in the mail yesterday.  Initial impression is that it sounds great.  Detailed comments to follow...

The 1,500 number was also just repeated in a recent newsletter from Rhino Handmade.

But it refers to the Deluxe Edition (CD/LP). The CD Edition (29 tracks) will be around longer.

Can you share a scan of the British LP label? . . . Maybe add it to the photos section?
