Different versions / different mixes

One of the intriguing aspects of Jan's production and arrangement is the variety of mixes of different songs. Some of these appear in bootlegs but some in official releases. Surf City, for example, has so many mixes - let alone mono / stereo.
Is it possible to identify a definitive version?
I Found A Girl, for example - the UK single and EP mix is very different from album and other versions.

In some instances the mix makes the song quite different.

Don't get me started on DMC.

Any thoughts?

I like what jan done,by releasing different mixes, as it would be like repeating the single,on the album, I ve never been a fan of jan and dean on stereo ,i m a huge fan of jans mono mixes, i do like the dmc curve version, on the drag city Lp. Maybe Jan thought he could improve the track,

I love hearing the evolution of how these songs were produced. Jan was way ahead of his time. In the end, I enjoy the final mono hit versions the most. If you don’t have it, I strongly suggest getting “Complete Liberty Singles”.
With that said, my favorite version of “Norwegian Wood” is actually on the new “Filet of Soul” release.
