Jan's coma
« on: July 22, 2018, 02:40:46 AM »
Does anyone know how long Jan was in a coma for after his accident? There seems to be conflicting evidence of this from a few days to 10 months, in the movie "Deadman's Curve" when Dean is bringing in the Laurel & Hardy tapes, to play to Jan in the hospital, the nurse says to him  "You can't bring that in here" and Dean replies "What's the difference, he's been out of it for months"

There's no conflicting evidence, just bad information from various sources.

Jan was semi-conscious after two weeks in the hospital. He was conscious by early May and spoke for the first time in mid-May 1966. Documented.

He was released from UCLA Medical Center in mid-June and transferred to the rehabilitation facility at Cedars Sinai.
