dont drop it.

had no reply in carnival of sound message board,so asking here, dont drop it, has anyone asked any musicians jan worked with or even dean, to see what the track was about or called.

“Don’t Drop It” was written by Terry Fell and later covered by Wilbert Harrison (Savoy 1571). It was one of the tracks Jan was working on in early 1966 before his automobile accident. Like the other "oldies," it was revisited after the accident because the basic track had already been recorded. In this case, Jan never finished the song.

on the c o f,cd booklet, it says unknown, how come the info wasnt added?

Andrew Sandoval didn't have any track information for it. It turned out that I had some of Jan's session tape for it, but it was labeled "Version 2" with no other title, and I didn't make the connection until later. During the tracking session Jan sings a little of the melody to himself, similar to Harrison's version (but not Feller's).

Some listeners familiar with Harrison's version recognized it when they heard the Carnival release.
