J&D Michelle

When was Jan & Dean's version of Michelle recorded? And I can't tell who's singing lead vocals. It doesn't sound like Jan to me. Is it Dean? Or someone else?

It's Dean. I would assume that was late 1965

December 1965, the Hullabaloo nightclub on Sunset Boulevard. Dean on lead vocals.

Yep . . . "Hide Your Love Away," too. All of the live stuff on Filet of Soul.

I know "Hide Your Love Away" is live because of the screaming, but I thought "Michelle" was a studio recording because of the lack of screaming, and high  production quality. I guess Jan was just that good!

The tracks were sweetened in the studio.
