Roger knew Jan so well, it was easy for him to help turn Jan's thoughts into lyrics, while adding his own creativity in the process.

There's a telling quote from Tom Bahler in the liners that illustrates how Roger could "interpret" for those who didn't know Jan before the accident.

Yes! Thanks so much for uploading these lyrics guys! I just got into Jan and Dean last year.  I even attended a Dean and the Surf City Allstars show last January. This album being released so soon after my musical discovery is such a blessing - now I can't wait for the Jan Berry documentary!!Hang Loose.

I apologise if I'm being clueless, but I googled and didn't find anything about this.

For that matter, does anyone know what ever happened with the biography that someone was supposedly writing before Jan's death?

I'm still working on researching Jan's biography . . . but will publish a Sessionography first, as a reference work.

I always feel guilty asking one of the busiest men alive this question - but do you have any idea of when the sessionography will be out? Basically I can't wait!

I've started the sessionography project . . . but even when finished, I have to decide on how to present the thing. Various options are on the table.

A lot (but not all) of my Carnival-related work just went into the liner notes and track annotations for the new release of Carnival of Sound . . . and we're now exploring possibilities for future J&D releases.

It's all tied together.

Just stay tuned . . . I think you'll be happy as things take shape over time.
