DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Album help.

You should try Amazon, Ebay, or several other websites that handle rare records. ReverbLP is another one.
Some of the rare stuff will cost you, but you should be able to find stuff.

I agree. Plus, that type of thing isn't for everyone. It doesn't mean he didn't care.

I agree. I love Jan's voice. Linda and Popsicle are very strong too!
Jan and Dean together too. Dream was fantastic!

Mother Earth was great! among others

Pre-accident- I think his solo on We Go Together showed how good his voice could be.

Overall, he was not in the league of Jay Black or Roy Orbison. But that just shows how great his productions were. It's amazing how great those records sounded!

Drag City was played as well, but mostly Surf City

Yes, Jan's story is incredible. I wish they would do a new movie and show the production and arrangement talents he had.

The only Beach Boys hit that Jan or Dean were on was Barbara Ann. That I know of.
But I guess you never know

Thought you'd like to see this ranking. Jan & Dean in the top 50.

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / Re: Dean Torrence Interview

This was a great interview! But Dean's comments at the end showed how he really didn't realize what the Jan Berry- Screen Gems thing was about. But he was honest about it. That was not his concern. Great interview!

I've been listening. I love the Beach Boys, but I must say that not everything they did was good. They are playing a lot of tunes on that station that are just plain bad. But the good ones are very good!

DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT / New Beach Boys release

I can't wait for the new Capital release of the Philharmonic Orchestra backing the Beach Boys hits. But don't forget who came up with this concept in 1965!!

Yes I've heard that several times. Jan and Dean are actually getting many songs played on XM. I've already heard north of 15 different J&D songs on XM.
But I never heard them on the classic rock station until recently

I know I shouldn't over think this, but Deadman's Curve is starting to get air time on a couple of classic rock XM stations. Deep Tracks and Tom Petty radio. Other artists are Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, etc.
Not bad!

I just ordered my copy. This CD has released the Pixie song "I'm Dying to Give my Love to you". I'm as excited as I was for Filet of Soul. I think this song shows Jan's talents as writer, arranger, and producer before he met Brian. Aspects of Jan's production of this song show up on later Jan & Dean recordings. It also gives insight into what Jan wrote on Deadman's Curve. The intro for sure, but also the background girls singing is similar to the chorus on DMC.

I don't think it was huge news at the time. He didn't die. He was just injured.
I don't believe people understood the severity until later.
Had he passed away that day, I think the news would have spread all over.
