One thing I find interesting. What's the difference between Jan & Dean Meet Batman and Filet of Soul? Both were half music and half comedy. But for some reason Batman got released and Filet was rejected.

i d put money on it, liberty went with batman as the tv series had started.

Here you go . . .

JAN: Well, Doc . . .

DEAN: Yeah?

JAN: The last thing I remember, if I remember correctly . . .  I started to swerve.

DEAN: Yeah?

JAN: And then I saw the . . .

DEAN: And then what happened? [laughs]

JAN: Then I saw the Volkswagen slide into the curve.

JAN: I know I’ll never forget that . . . tough-lookin’ chick.

DEAN: No wonder you crashed!

JAN: I guess I found out for myself that I shoulda told mommy I was takin’ the car out . . .

To this day, I'm not sure if I know whose voice it is during the spoken part in Dead Man's Curve. "Well doc..." part sounds like Dean talking to Jan, with Jan saying "yeah". But then it sounds like Jan saying "I know I'll never forget that tough looking chick".  "no wonder you crashed" sounds like Jan again. And who said " I guess I should've told mommy I was taking the car" ? Can anyone help with who said what? Their voices really do sound alike.

In the 90s I saw an import in tower records london, called deadmans curve. The tracks I remember are deadmans curve and philadelpha pa and had a aqua or bluey green colour   cover. Maybe a japan release. Anyone have any info please.

Here's an article I wrote that supplements the liner notes for Filet of Soul Redux, providing documentable historical context for Jan Berry on the business end, as it related to the Filet of Soul album. This crucial history is wholly lacking in the liners penned by Dean Torrence and David Beard.

I'm really excited to have another Jan and Dean release and the sound quality is great. Cleaned up from an acetate I guess? There still sees quite a bit missing from various versions over the years but it is especially good to hear the clarity of the music - great arrangements and what a rhythm section!!

No credit given to the harmonica player!!

The idea of a comprehensive box set must still be an option????

I'm in the UK so haven't seen any reviews - I would be fascinated to hear how the album was received by someone who is new to it!!!!

The reviews have been mixed, as you would expect. Some have panned it completely while others appreciate it.
