The new Beach Boy's release does sound great. I remember when Bruce Johnston put out a symphonic CD about 20 years ago or so of BB music. I thought it was pretty good actually. Yes, Jan came up with this idea 53 years ago with his Pop Symphony. I don't think a lot of teenagers understood it at that time. Probably sounded too much like mom and dad's music to them. I finally bought the LP back in the early 80's. I didn't think it was too bad. Haven't heard it in awhile, but I remember Linda and Surf City being my favorite. It's A Shame To Say Goodbye was also great come to think of it and sounded the closest to the original song. Hope The Beach Boys have a successful release  with their new album.

I can't wait for the new Capital release of the Philharmonic Orchestra backing the Beach Boys hits. But don't forget who came up with this concept in 1965!!

Yes I've heard that several times. Jan and Dean are actually getting many songs played on XM. I've already heard north of 15 different J&D songs on XM.
But I never heard them on the classic rock station until recently

Glad to hear that Jan & Dean songs are being played on XM and Sirius radio. I've heard Surf City a number of times being played. It's great that Deadman's Curve got on the air. Like I mentioned before, Sirius actually played Rock and Roll Music from Command Performance. That's the first time I ever heard a live song by Jan & Dean played over the airwaves.

I know I shouldn't over think this, but Deadman's Curve is starting to get air time on a couple of classic rock XM stations. Deep Tracks and Tom Petty radio. Other artists are Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, etc.
Not bad!

Does anyone know the deal with The Lloyd Thaxton Show and why none can be found with Jan & Dean? According to Mark's book, they were on numerous times. I even remember Mike Kelly included a great color photo in his Sunshine Music fanzine. It was taken during one of Lloyd's shows with Jan still in his leg cast. I hope these shows weren't erased or destroyed like they did with other programs back in the day. I'm guessing it was a local Los Angeles show and not shown nationally. Has anybody seen J&D on his show when it originally ran?

Thanks for sharing that, glad you've enjoyed it.  I wonder what you'll think of the bonus track "Spring Break" on the May 4th 2018 re-issue.
