How did the reuniting of Jan & Dean happen for their first concert appearance since the accident, in terms of who contacted who about getting them back together?

I wonder if the movie "dead man's curve" shows the truth in this case (Jan proposing to do a lip sync act). After all, it wasn't very truthful on other occasions, so why believe it now?

it's hard to say. Most of the details like that seem to be made up.
I bought a double DVD: The Buddy Holly Story and La Bamba. How about a double release of Dead Man's Curve and the Beach Boys  An American Band. That might sell.

About the reunion concert in 1973,if according to the movie and the song was lip synced how come jan wasn t backed up with a member of the band make jan feel a little comfortable in performing again, and if jan did miss line the audience wouldn t have noticed, being the first time,

I would love to hear a full report of the reunion gig back in 1973 at the surfer stomp,as i ve not seen any film footage or photos, would be nice to see some,
