Lisa Mychols — It’s As Easy As 1, 2, 3

LISAMYCHOLS.COM — For Encomium In Memoriam, the amazing Lisa Mychols sings lead on the cover of Jill Gibson’s solo version of “It’s As Easy As 1, 2, 3.”
The original was arranged and produced by Jan Berry for Imperial Records in 1964, and featured one of Jan’s best arrangements for brass and woodwinds.
A different version of the song — a vocal duet between Jan and his girlfriend Jill — also appeared on two Jan & Dean albums in ’64, and was the B-Side of J&D’s hit single “You Really Know How To Hurt A Guy” in 1965 (Liberty Records).
Lisa’s own original music embraces a 1960s pop sensibility tinged with plenty of rock and punk influences. Lisa has played with many movers and shakers of the Los Angeles underground, including the Mozells, Darian Sahanaja and Nick Walusko of the Wondermints and Brian Wilson’s band, Robbie Rist (“Oliver” on The Brady Bunch), the Masticators, the Waking Hours, and Nushu.
Her new album is called Nobody’s Girl.
